Condiment Review: Kit's Peanut Chutney

Updated: Dec 3, 2019

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heat:🔥🔥 I've posted a lot of 4 star reviews lately as I've been treated to a bunch of great sauce... and this is no different. Less a sauce than a chutney the @Peanut_Chutney crew are a family run business based in my very own London. I met them at an event and they were lovely. Here's the verdict on their traditional family recipe!

_ 👁 Well it looks inviting. It has a very simple and sleek design, no colours, no fuss. A nice font, well formatted and the lid matches the colour scheme. The best touch is an old family portrait on the side, it really reinforces the fact that it has some history. _ 👃 It smells like... well Peanuts. With a strong dash of mint and coriander. Very fresh. _ 👅 The taste confirms what the noise suggests. The base is obviously peanuts, next you get the coriander, which is a bold move as it can be a bit marmite for some people. After that the mint creeps in, which is a nice relief before the chilli caresses the taste buds. It's exactly the right heat, enough to register but not so much as to overpower the other flavours. The only thing I'm left wanting is a touch of sweetness. _ 👫 I road tested this with some quorn burgers and then also last night in a cheese toastie which went amazingly. I'd also like to try it in a sandwich with some grilled chicken. Very versatile! _ 🍕 It's too thick to dip I'm afraid, but that's the point I guess. It's more of a spread in the same way that other chutneys are. See video for more! _
