Sauce Review: Sa-wu-chay Sauce Collection

Updated: Dec 3, 2019

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heat:🔥 I was sent these sauces by @sawuchay as a trio and felt that this is how they should be reviewed. There's not much to be gleaned online about the company but that's ok. Let's let the sauce do the talking!

_ Sweet Curry ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a straight up chip shop style curry sauce. I'm a sucker for a curry sauce but this seems to elevate it ever so slightly by being sweeter and having a lovely consistency. It's also less fatty. There's nothing fancy about this. It's just an every day dipping sauce packed full of sweet flavour. Sometimes simple is better.

_ Chilli Garlic ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mirroring the sweet curry this sauce seems simple in it's construction. It's made with all natural ingredients but I think the difference with these sauces is they just haven't given a f**k about how much sugar and salt they bung in. Which as a result means they taste brilliant. Let's be honest... naughty food tastes good. It's a really mild heat and they haven't gone easy on the garlic.

_ Hot & Tangy BBQ ⭐⭐⭐ Of the three this was the only one that fell short of the mark for me. It has a nice tangy flavour and the BBQ flavour doesn't seem false like some do... the main problem really is the consistency. It's thin and I want my BBQ to stick. Maybe they could consider adding in some carrot or another dense veg item to bulk it out.

_ In summary these three really feel like sauces for daily use in fact I burned through them pretty quickly. Gobbling with everything from chips to salad bowls. They don't scream artisan... but sometimes that's okay. Good sauce made with love. _
