Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heat:🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 TOMORROW is the day! Which brings us to 10 of 10 posts in collaboration with @hot_sauce_society, London's FIRST hot sauce festival! Coming this April 13th a host of hot sauce producers (including myself) will be gathering in Copeland Park, Peckham for a day celebrating the iconic condiment. I'm reviewing 10 of them, 1 per day, ahead of it and finally we go to @wiltshirechillies a chilli farm with an amazing range of hot products.
_ 👁 The little bottle is great, I actually looked at these for my own sauce but went with a larger one to start with. You don't need a lot if this though as we'll see! The design is very... well... COOL. Great bold logo design and limited colours make it seem sleek and dangerous. _ 👃 It has a lovely earthy smell that stings and makes the eyes water. There's definitely a good helping of chillis in here and some smokiness that excites me. _ 👅 WOW. This is like the S&M of the sauce world. Pleasure meets pain. On tasting you get a beautiful earthy chilli flavour complimented perfectly by just the right amount of paprika for added flavour. Just as you're thinking "Oh this isn't too bad" it sets in. Habaneros and Reapers are a deadly mixture as they bring different types of heat. The habaneros hit you at the front and then the reapers tend to build slowly, when you wish they would stop it just keeps getting hotter. Into it. _ 👬 if you're brave I'd have this with beef brisket or hot dogs. Less brave? Maybe use to add lovely flavour to a big pot of chilli con carne. _ 🍕 It would actually dip quite well... but I wouldn't. Just put a dab on before you commit to anything too heavily. You may regret it! Excited to try it? We'll see you tomorrow at the festival!
